Parent collaboration

For us, a strong collaboration with parents is essential. We have a parent council where at least one parent from each group participates, and together we focus on how we can improve the preschool experience for all.

Examples of our parent collaboration include:

InfoMentor app: Our app through which the preschool publishes blogs, calendars, attendance, pedagogical documentation, and portfolios. Through InfoMentor, educators and guardians also communicate about schedules, illness, or small everyday matters.

Daily communication during drop-off and pick-up: We believe daily communication is very important. Even small details can make a big difference in a child's day or evening. It's also vital for the child to see that parents and educators have a good relationship.

Parent/Development conversations in November and April/May: Of course, we also have conversations when needed, initiated by both educators and parents. It’s important to respect the child and guardians by not discussing sensitive topics in the hallway but instead inviting them to a meeting.

Welcome letters and clear information for new families.

Follow-up meetings after settling-in: We discuss how things have been working and give parents the opportunity to provide feedback on how they feel the transition has gone.

Parent meeting in September and Parent council in September/October.

Opportunities to create different interest groups, such as for the development of the garden, collaboration on larger activities, or cultural celebrations.

Parent letter from the principal at least once per term.

Parent satisfaction survey: We inform parents at the September parent meeting about the importance of helping us improve by responding to the satisfaction survey. This is done as we review our goals and the survey results for the year.

Drop-in coffee gatherings.

Bamseloppet and Uggleloppet: Two popular running events for the children.

End-of-year celebration with performances, "graduation" (diplomas and hats), and a picnic.
